Blackburn Mag Trainer
Don't screw around. Do you have 130US$? Yes? Go buy this.
I think a lot of people want to get in shape in the privacy of their own home. I think a lot of people consider an exercise bike, but find them to be too expensive when they could just ride their bike outside. I think a lot of people are basically too lazy/nervous to do this.
But if you have a bike, and you have the 130US$, your problems are solved.
Maybe your body is too unsightly to exercise in public. Maybe you live in rainy Oregon. Maybe you can't afford an exercise bike. Get an indoor trainer, turn your stereo up quite loud, and sweat all over your floor. You'll be riding on the road in no time, and you'll be in good shape for doing it.
My advice:
-Bike for an hour during the network evening news. Getting angry will increase your athletic ability.
-Make a little stand for holding up your fashion magazine. Every time you slow down just imagine Gemma Ward being disappointed in you.
-Make sure you have a mirror close by at an unflattering angle.
-Don't let kitties near the trainer while it is in use. Unless you like pirate kitties.

Hey, you got one? Great!
Blackburn, Cycleops, and Tacx trainers are all good stuff.
I'd stay away from the cheapo "travel-trac" ones sold at Performance.
Or, you could be hardcore and buy some rollers...
dude, scour ebay for Kreitlers. I got mine for less than half the new price and they're pretty much new.
