Recent additions to the Israeli Invasion scrapbook:

(abc.net.au)

Is it just me, or do these images, taken recently, not look exactly like the establishing scene in every post-apocalyptic movie where the narrator/old man/irradiated immortal dude talks about how the world tore itself apart at the beginning of the 21st century?

While Israeli forces have just destroyed a three-storey apartment building in Qana, killing over 40, half of these children; an Israeli commander has this to comment on the response to Hezbollah rocket attacks:

"All of it were addressed to the cities, to the settlements, to the villages to hit the innocent population and we are acting exactly the opposite - we address all the fire to hit the terrorists."

Israel continues to deny responsibility for the death of civilians.

Okay, so once again, is it just me, or does this not sound like the crazy kind of authoritarian thinking that leads up to such a global conflict? When did the Israeli government become entirely run by the evil guys from "V for Vendetta"?
