Recently, in the Portland area, there has been a spate of automobile vandalism. An SUV was immolated and a couple hundred car tires were slashed the other night.
Granted, I generally feel that a person's property should be treated with respect, but as someone who suffers from heat-sickness, I can't help but be a little pleased. I feel a little guilty exalting in this autocide, as virtually all of my friends drive cars, and most of these use their cars in order to help and/or visit me.
But did anyone check with me before they started releasing prodigious amounts of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere?
On the other hand, If I catch someone vandalzing an electric car, I'm going to beat them within an inch of their life.
I'd also like to issue a general "shame on you" to all the news channels who treat these incidents like child-rapes. These acts of vehicular vandalism are not tragedies. If you can afford to ruin the world, you can afford to replace your tires.
