I have 94 percent recall of all conversation


Capote


If you haven't yet done so, go see it. Seriously, the Oscars are coming up, and I don't want to have to explain the movie to you then.

At first I kind of thought that Phil Hoffman was just doing a pretty decent Capote impresssion, but he not only sustains the impression seamlessly, but manages to give one of his most moving performances yet while doing so.


Anyone with taste will surely appreciate Catherine Keener in the role of Harper Lee.

This movie deals largely with vanity- a sin quite close to my heart- but it is never glorifed. Neither is Capote portrayed as excessivley sympathetic (or indeed at all).

Clifton Collins Jr. gives a performance that in any other movie would be much more noticeable. As it is, it's often as compelling as Hoffman's. Some of you may remember Collins from his role as the strung-out drug dealer in The Rules of Attraction.

It should be noted that the real Capote was incredibly hot. Here's proof:
