Belle and Sebastian recently released The Life Pursuit, and I urge anyone who reads this to find a copy immediately!
The band's quintessential sound remains strong, though this album is clearly a departure from B & S of the past. With a harder vintage-rock vibe--and more use of the word "fuck"--they have given us the same catchy songs with a little less pop. And though the melodies aren't as delicate (despite Stuart Murdoch's voice remaining as breathy as ever), they will still chill you the fuck out...
I recommend sitting on the grass, in the sun, with this work of genius playing on your iPod; you will be a much happier person if you do...

I'm always behind the curve, and recently picked up "If You're Feeling Sinister." Good stuff.
Another recent acquisition is Iron and Wine's "In the Reins," which is short on songs but high in awesomeness.
