Army Interrogator Convicted in Death of Iraqi General (nytimes.com)
Chief Warrant Officer Lewis E. Welshofer Jr was found guilty of negligent homicide yesterday. His crime? Stuffing an Iraqi general, Abed Hamed Mowhoush, head first into a sleeping bag, covering his mouth with his hands, and sitting on his chest until he died.
Apparently, he neglected to stop choking the man, resulting in his unlucky death. Welshofer's defense claimed that it was Mowhoush's obesity (he weighed at least 250 lbs, what a whale!) which placed undue stress on his heart.
Welshofer faces a maximum term of three years in the brig.
Is anyone paying attention?
