A Miller's Tale

Here we have Sienna Miller--media darling, fiance to bad-boy Jude Law, and, in this girl's opinion, a bit of a fashion nightmare. Miller's "Soho Boho" style (which included the pants-tucked-under-boots phenomenon, peasant skirts with studded or coin belts, denim vests over tank tops) has sadly endeared her to the fashion world. Upon receiving my January issue of "Vogue," my distaste for this 'It' girl only increased.

In the article, Miller is quoted as saying, "'No more boho chic. Those two words make me sick now!' Miller has said farewell to her hippie-ish long golden locks and to flowing Gypsy skirts." Thank God! Unfortunately for those of us who adore mod style, Miller has adopted a "sleeker" '60s look. Wearing mod mini-dresses and black, black, black, one has to wonder if Miller simply raided the wardrobe department of her new Edie Sedgwick bio-pic.

This is perhaps what pisses me off about Sienna Miller the most. Months ago she was dressing as if she has wandered into the flea-market Blossom used to frequent (picking up only the boring black, white, and neutral pieces). Now she is praised for adopting a style that numerous fashionistas (myself included) have been sporting for years. Sure, I don't have access to Balenciaga or Burberry like Miller does; if I did, however, I can assure you Ms. Miller would have some serious competition...
